Yard Sale Finds!

Can we all give a yell - Woohoo!

I saw an ad for a yard sale last night that stated, "Not your typical yard sale. No clothes, no toys, or furniture." And then it listed antique clothes, material, trims, laces, quilts, quilt patterns, and doll making items... This pile cost me $25 at half price. I filled an entire grocery sack with things to make you go --- OOOHHHH!!

I haven't even scratched the surface of what I bought! I was in nirvana. Once I managed to tear myself away Mom said, "Why don't we stop at the other sale we passed."

Yeah. So we went there and I got more things to make you swoon. I grabbed one of our wooden bowls and threw in my favorite spools.

Ok, the frame doesn't look like much but it is old - and it has a patent number on the back. Now, why in the world would it have that? The wooden spools - all of them cost a whopping $5. I started a new collection. ;0)

I also got 3 little wooden slat boxes - the computer ate the picture. But, I'm going to fill them with a little shredded paper and place my small pillows in them. Once I get them arranged I'll post something.

Stopped by Jo-Ann's and got some fat quarters, more buttons, and wire. All in all - a beautiful successful day.

Now, I know what you will be getting when I finally get around to that one year anniversary that was over a month ago!

Smiles - Denise

Very cool! We have one or two places in my area that has a bunch of sewing/needlework stuff in their yard sales. I went one time and spent less than $5.00 on a bunch of DMC floss, not that I needed it, but couldn't resist, loL!

I so need to be in USA next year, your craft outlets (including yard sales) are way above ours, shopping online is OK, but you don't get the buzz. Love your laces, cotton reels, in fact every thing!!

I am SO LUCKY! I have a bunch of spools that were Grandma's. They are just too cool.

By the way, I like your red, white and blue background. I must look for one for myself for now through July 4th.
