Update time...

Mary Jane...seriously this is a quick stitch! Can't believe how much has been accomplished over a weekend!

Page four is nearly complete. But, the word brought on the top line is 10 stitches from fathers. Most other word breaks are between 6 and 8 stitches apart. And the last two words on this line look a little smooshed together. Brought is being ripped out and moved a little closer to fathers.

Something I have noticed in this pattern is sometimes the s's have tails and other times don't and the i's are sometimes 4 stitches high and other times 5. Why do designers do this? Is it me being picky or is there something going on I have missed?

Oh, thank you everyone for your advice on how to frame cheaply. I need to check your stores out. And no, sorry Dawn, I can not be your partner is a stitch shop. The drive is a bit long for a daily commute. lol. Now, Lori, how far from Cleveland are you talking? A bit further south...I'm in! Heading towards Toledo or Youngstown....umm. And Cincinnati is OUT!! Now, Columbus is fine. So, what town were you thinking?? :)

Well, kids, I'm off to rip my stitches out and try again. Hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer!

272 Words is looking good. I, too, would prefer consistent lettering especially when I am on a roll with stitching. Enjoy your day!

You know I love to stitch words so I never did think this would take horribly long. It's just finishing up the 3 must-do projects then deciding that I can live with the fabric I kitted this up with (wow - ending a sentence with not one, but - count them! - two prepositions! Hope the grammar gods don't strike me down!). I'll get there, I promise, and please know that I'm pleased you've gone on ahead instead of waiting for me. Oh - and I appreciate knowing that I should look over the word spacing. I think sometimes it varies based on letters with tails above and letters with height below, but you know I don't mind changing a pattern! As for a single letter being designed differently, sometimes that drives me nutty, too, but in this case, thinking of how people wrote in 1863, I doubt that it will bother me at all! We shall see, though, right? Thanks for your speed, comments and advice!

I was thinking of the Beachwood I-271 area...

Wonderful progress Denise. I had started this one but gave up.

When I did lettering, once I started a line I didn't follow the pattern so I never knew if spacing or letters were different . . . LOLOL

On my last doily I started a section where I could do about 10 lines, once the first ones were done, without referring to the pattern. When I got them done I found I had "outguessed" myself and I did it wrong. But, I liked mine better so I left it in :)
