Oh My!

I've been working on my basement this week. Think I've discovered an issue.

My name is Denise and I am a wanna-be hoarder.

There is no reason known to man for someone having 4 totes of Christmas bulbs. FOUR! One for blue bulbs, one for gold, another for the multi-colors, and the fourth for the white/silver/brass/clear bulbs. Mind you - I'm talking bulbs. Not decorations, ornaments, lights - just bulbs.

Don't get me started on the number of lights I own. I bet I threw out over 1000 lights. I found hundreds of lights - green and white, red, blue, multi, and clear. And these aren't the ones I JUST BOUGHT. Oh no, and did I mention at least 8 boxes of lights for the porch? I need a HUGE tote for the lights or several small ones.

And here I thought my Christmas decorations were organized. Guess not.

But, I haven't even come close to the part of the basement where the kid's childhood things are kept. sob...

If I have little to show for my stitching time this month at least you know what I've been doing.

Pull a few stitches for me!
Denise

Wow that's a lot of lights, but lights are so pretty.
Good luck on the basement. I guess that is why we don't have basements in California. Just one more place to stash stuff.

Hi, Denise. I, too, am a Christmas decoration hoarder. At this point, we have to store ours in a separate storage facility because the totes no longer fit in our house. So, when you're turning in circles, looking at all the stuff you can't believe you have, and still thinking about how lucky you were to find those 12 boxes of lights in the after-Christmas sales...just remember, you are NOT alone! :)

That's not hoarding! That's decorating! Especially if you have a theme tree! It's easier to separate the bulbs, in case you want to mix them a different way next year. Like I have had a purple and silver tree last few years. But I changed it to purple and gold, so I have added gold to the mix. That DOES not include the old kid ones, true... but most have been given to them already. You are FINE! You might have a really big house to decorate with all those lights... Fahget about it!! Hugs!

Oh my Denise. Can't say that I have 4 totes with just blubs, but I do have one huge one with about 40 extension cords. lol

Just think how terrific you (and your house) will feel when this job is complete - keep up the good work!

That is a lot of lights!! My husband is in charge of lights ~ so, if that was my house, he'd take all the blame!

Aren't you just accumulating enough lights to be like Chevy Chase's house on Christmas Vacation? ;)

SO great that you are getting this done. Not fun but you will feel so much better afterwards.
