I Just Have to Share

Last night we had a verbal confrontation with a trespasser.

We were told we were 'petty and ridiculous' for making her and her children follow the law.
She told my sister - "To take her fat *** home and bake something."
She told me - "Don't call the sheriff - call Jenny Craig instead."
She called me a wonderfully colorful name and DH was called an 'old man'
And the best one yet..."You people who own property think you own the world."

The language she used in front of the kids...foul. And this is why I think some people should get a permit to parent before conceiving.

Amazing! Simply Amazing!

This morning I called my sister to ask her if she baked anything last night because I had yet to call Jenny. Needless to say, we didn't take that woman's advice on what she thought we should be doing.

I'm thinking DH and I will be purchasing No trespassing/No fishing/Private Property signs this weekend. Such a shame that some foul mouthed wench of a woman has ruined it for everyone. All those kids had to do was stop and ask permission to fish. What is she teaching these kids at home??

Thanks for letting me vent - still shaking my head in wonder.

OMG. It is amazing what people will do these days. It seems like so many people do not see the value in plain old simple politeness. Being polite (like you alluded to in your blog) goes a long way. By simply asking and getting your permission, the kids might have been afforded a fun activity this summer. Instead she is teaching her kids that it is ok to be rude and that they don't have to follow the rules. Too sad.

Oh my goodness! That would make me SO ANGRY. It's YOUR property...YOUR rules.

I saw a sign that was terrible but funny...'Trespassers will be shot. Survivors will be shot again.'

We run into the same problem. We live on a cranberry bog and own the property. We asked neighbors who frequently walk there dogs on the bog to clean up after them and they flat out refused saying "make me". Well now there are no trespassing signs posted and everyone loses.

We were having the same conversation about how manners and polite-ness have all but disappeared. But consider the world--tv is pretty crude and rude, music--let's not go there! Teachers (and bus monitors!!) have to take abuse from rowdy kids. It is pretty sad... Love Nataly's sign wording! Hugs to you!

reminds me of a conference I had with the principal, a girl and her mother . . . mother made some snide comment about my nreats and how they looked when i was her teacher . . . I just sat there in shock and wondered who this woman was who I couldn't remember who had bred such an obnoxious child!

I am so sorry for your bad experience. I have asked for a lazer gun to sterilize such folks so the trend does not continue! What I fear the most is that they (the poor mannered folk) are having more children than those who raise responsible youngsters and they'll outnumber us soon!

People never cease to amaze me .
We think that you should have to take a competence test before being allowed to have kids . You need a licence to drive a car , but not to raise children ?!

I hope you did call the sheriff! Some people really should't be parents, they just raise children that are going to be even worse parents.

My parents have 84 acres and over the years, weave had similar issues, so I completely understand how you feel.
Loved Jayne's comment!

It takes all kinds of people. So disappointing.

I do totally agree with you on this "I think some people should get a permit to parent before conceiving."
If only we could enforce it.
