Near Year and a Surprise Give Away!

While cruising the blogs this morning I came upon Maggee at Stitching Devotee. She had won a PIF give away. It inspired me to go back a few posts and pick someone who had commented.

And I picked Catherine from Bramblewood Stitches! Here's what I am sending her ~

Cherry Tree Inn by LHN, 5 ornament size pieces of 28ct linen,
an ort  keeper, small bottle of Gloves in a Bottle,
and a small flower frog.
If you would rather have the linen in 32ct - I can switch that out for you. Happy New Year Catherine and thank you for commenting!

Last night I learned to call ahead at our favorite restaurant. While on our way I made the phone call requesting seating only to hear the hostess tell me we would have a 4 1/2 HOUR wait! That would have been after 9pm for dinner. We took the chance they would let us in. The first pass through their parking found no spaces at all. We ran over to Best Buy and then tried the restaurant again - an opening! They let us in and we got a seat at the bar after a 10 minute wait. The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. One thing about setting at the bar - quick refills. We were home by 8pm.

Our festive evening concluded by watching Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives until 11:45. Then we switched to Dick Clark and had a kiss at midnight. I was in bed at 12:08. Yep, a wild night - dinner and tv. lol

Hope everyone had a safe and joyous time last night. Here's to 2012 finding us all happy, healthy, and stitching!
Denise

ps - Is anyone else watching Candy Spelling selling the Spelling Manor on HGTV tomorrow afternoon? I can't wait!

Thanks so much Denise! What a great way to start off the new year! I was thinking that I would like to do some more RAK's this year. I seem so have more fun just sending something to someone when they aren't really expecting it! I love the goodies!! I'm looking forward to trying that hand-cream and going on the hunt for scissors to fill that frog!
Thanks again!

How sweet of you to do a surprise give away. I bet Catherine will be thrilled.

I have to admit I have never heard of Candy Spelling so I will have to check out HGTV tomorrow just to find out. LOL

Happy New Year

Great idea with the PIF!

I love eating at the bar, since its just myself a lot of times. There's always someone to talk to, or I just amuse myself with watching the bartenders pour drinks. The 2 busiest nights of the year for restaurants are always New Year's Eve, and Valentine's day.

Yay on getting the seat at the restaurant! So many people won't consider eating at the bar, but I will do that every time if the wait is longer than, say, 15 minutes!

Happy New Year! I too love Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and watched numerous episodes over break. Instead of your comment reading "Here's to 2012 finding us all happy, healthy, and stitching!" I have changed mine to "Here's to 2012 finding me happy, healthy, and studying!" Cheers! Jen

Our New Years Eve was similar to yours. Out with some friends to eat at a little Italian restaurant. Then back to our house for dessert and the "original" True Grit. I beat you to bed at 10:45 :)

I saw Selling Spelling Manor by accident when I was flipping channels (missed first half hour) but saw the purchase/renovation of the new condo too. Wow!
