I Would Like to Introduce...

Miss Alivia Marie

Born August 13, 2010
at 12:30 am
2 lbs 9 ozs
15" long

Now I know Friday the 13th isn't such a bad day at all! Isn't she precious?
Today also happens to be my mom's 60th birthday.
As it happens my mom was born in the same town, same hospital, and ready for this
10 minutes apart. Mom was born at 12:20 am.

Here are the birthday girls ~

My sister had some problems late in the evening and it was decided not to wait until this morning to have her. But, after the rush of delivery everything turned out fine.

Alivia had to have oxygen for the first few minutes but, has not needed any help to breathe. The medical staff is very pleased with her size and progress. And Keri is progressing towards normal. We are waiting for test results on Keri before saying she is out of the woods.

Thank-you again for all your thoughts and prayers!

Have a great weekend! Smiles - Denise

Congratulations to all of you Denise and so pleased to hear all went well. My twin boys were delivered 8wks early due to pre-eclampsia but with dedicated nursing staff they both picked up so quickly and today they both stand 2" taller than me and it's hard to believe they were ever so small - even the premature baby nappies came up to their necks!!! Alivia's gorgeous - enjoy every minute of her Auntie Denise xxxx

So beautiful! I am so happy that everything went well! How wonderful that Alivia and your mom have the same birthdays and hospital, etc. It was just meant to be. More prayers that Keri is going to be fine.

Thanks for your comment on my recent post. I will keep all informed, but I am sure he will be fine. Now if only I can convince him to stop frying everything, LOL!

I just got back from California, and I rushed to the computer to see how the delivery went! I'm so glad everyone is well. These pictures made my heart pinch as I remember my daughter being a 32 weeker in the NICU. Not being able to hold her or touch her was hard, and my heart goes out to Keri since I know she wants to snuggle that baby. It's amazing to me how differently babies progress, and how well Alivia is doing. Even though my baby was 8 weeks early, she was a whopping 5 lbs 3 oz! But she had no sucking reflex (had to feed with a NG tube), couldn't regulate her temperature, and required intubation and surfactant to breathe for quite some time. Her nervous system was a mess, and she screamed constantly. :( I'm so glad we are past all that! She turns 11 in a couple of weeks, and has no ill effects from her prematurity. Hugs and kisses to Alivia and your sister!
